HACK/SLASHER teams with GODKILLERS for LOADED BIBLE illustrated film
- Tim Seeley’s vampire horror comic gets big-screen adaptation by award-winning filmmaker Matt Pizzolo -
Los Angeles, CA, September 1, 2009 – Halo-8 Entertainment has secured the rights for award-winning director Matt Pizzolo (GODKILLER, THREAT) and Emmy-winning producer Brian Giberson to create an “illustrated film” adaptation of “LOADED BIBLE: Jesus vs Vampires,” a post-nuke horror comic book published by Image Comics and created by Tim Seeley (whose HACK/SLASH comic book is currently in development at Rogue Pictures with Fredrik Bond directing and Justin Marks penning). Halo-8 is planning a 2010 theatrical release for the illustrated film.
“Illustrated films” are a new filmmaking format designed by Pizzolo and Giberson that mixes elements of anime, radio drama, video games, and motion comics. Utilizing the sequential artwork from the comic book, the “illustrated film” adds motion animation, 3D CGI, visual effects, elaborate sound design, music, and dramatic voice performances. The format was developed for the upcoming GODKILLER, which features voice performances by Lance Henriksen (ALIEN VS PREDATOR), Danielle Harris (HALLOWEEN II), Nicki Clyne (BATTLESTAR GALACTICA series), Bill Moseley (THE DEVIL’S REJECTS), Tiffany Shepis (NIGHT OF THE DEMONS), Lydia Lunch (Richard Kern’s HARDCORE), Katie Nisa (THREAT), Justin Pierre (singer of MOTION CITY SOUNDTRACK), and Davey Havok (singer of A.F.I.). The first GODKILLER dvd streets on September 29th and is currently available for pre-order here.
“Tim is a fantastic storyteller who’s managed to take a ridiculously high-concept idea like Jesus vs Vampires and turn it into a moving and personal story of betrayal and redemption, almost in spite of the wild setup,” said Pizzolo. “This will be the first time I direct a film I didn’t write, and I truly believe the ‘illustrated film’ format Brian and I developed will enable us to create an adaptation that is totally loyal to the original work but still different and unique enough to stand on its own as something every member of the creative team can be proud of whether they worked on the comic or the film.”
“When I first discovered Halo-8 and their approach to entertainment, I knew I’d found a kindred spirit,” said Seeley. “They make the kinds of films they want, they don’t answer to a major studio, and they know how to use technology and make it work for them. I’m pleased to have an off-kilter project like LOADED BIBLE find a home with these guys in their illustrated films line and I can’t wait for film and comic fans alike to see it.”
LOADED BIBLE takes place after nuclear Holy War has decimated North America and left it populated by legions of vampires. When humanity’s last stronghold New Vatican City is withering under the vampires’ assault, the Church gives their people a hero by cloning Jesus Christ Himself… but all is not as it seems for the Test Tube Messiah as he’s drawn into a web of betrayal, bloodshed, and seduction.

Pizzolo announces FREE Godkiller Blu-rays for purchasers of the standard-def DVD due to the Blu-ray’s postponed street date.

The wait is almost over! The full-length animated feature film GODKILLER will premiere at Chicago’s C2E2 immediately following the panel “HALO-8: Illustrated Films & Comics” on Friday April 16th at 7:45pm.
Halo-8 has unveiled a preview clip from episode 2 of the illustrated film GODKILLER, which streets today January 26th as a limited-edition shortform DVD. The clip features Dr. Mulciber (Lance Henriksen) tasting the blood of Tommy (Justin Pierre) and having an epic psychedelic trip in the process.

Halo-8 has unveiled a brand new preview clip for the illustrated-film Godkiller, whose first episode comes to DVD this Tuesday Oct 6th. The clip is a monologue sequence where Dr. Mulciber (Lance Henriksen) explains his use of sex-magic to solve crimes.
